The draw for the second round of the All-Ireland Senior Hurling Qualifiers has been made and it's thrown up some very interesting clashes in the race for the Liam McCarthy Cup.

After finally getting their season on track with a victory over Dublin last weekend Cork, for whom Alan Cadogan seems to be in inspired form, will be looking to keep on the front foot when they take on Wexford side who earned a dominant victory over Offaly over the weekend.

Clare look to be hitting form at the right time of the season after obliterating 13-man Laois 5-33 to 0-12 last Saturday but Limerick will be confident of putting up more of a challenge after Shane Dowling turned in an inspired performance, scoring 14 points against Westmeath.

Discipline will be a concern for Limerick who finished the match a man down, particularly after Clare showing what they can do when the faced the depleted ranks of Laois.

The prize that awaits the winners of the below ties is a place in the All-Ireland quarter finals against the losers of the Leinster and Munster finals. The games will take place on the 9th and 10th of July.

A meeting will be held later this afternoon by the GAA's Central Competitions Control Committee to determine the venues, times and dates for the below fixtures.
