After the Munster and Leinster hurling championship round robin opening round, here are our hurling power rankings.

No surprise that Waterford were our biggest riser on the back of that huge win over Cork. Clare could have taken the first place if they'd held out but Limerick remain atop the power rankings after an emphatic comeback in Ennis.

Note these were last updated after the league semifinal and we've ranked the 11 counties in Leinster and Munster.

1. Limerick (unchanged)

The green machine is back. They didn’t play at their best and still managed to win in Ennis; a sign of true champions. Adam English was sensational when introduced.

2. Clare (unchanged)

Pressure is well and truly on the Banner camp after Sunday's loss, making next week's trips to SuperValu Páirc Uí Chaoimeh extra valuable (excuse the pun) as the loser is effectively out. Tony Kelly's return will be a bonus.

3. Kilkenny (unchanged)

After a routine 5-30 to 0-13 win over Antrim, TJ Reid is getting some game minutes under his belt, and the Leinster champions are motoring along nicely.

4. Tipperary (unchanged)

If Tipp are back, they must enter the lion's den and perform against the champions next week. Expect a fightback after the last day against Clare.

5. Waterford (up 3)

Is this the year Waterford finally got out of the round-robin? Well, if Waterford keeps playing like they did on Sunday with two men inside, Dessie Hutchinson not near his won goal, Michael Kiely catching the ball with his JCB hands, and Jamie Barron buzzing around the place, then the answer is quite simply yes.

6. Galway (unchanged)

The introduction of captain Conor Whelan helped Galway see off Carlow with a 2-25 to 2-14. John Cooney and Donal O’Shea impressed on their debuts.

7. Cork (down 1)

The wait for Liam looks like it will continue for some time yet, as the Rebels failed to get going in Walsh Park. Should Pat Ryan stick with the old guard or introduce more of the younger players next time out?

8. Wexford (down 1)

Two late stoppage time goals denied Keith Rossiter a championship debut win. Their championship faith will now be decided on how they perform against Antrim and Carlow or just beat Kilkenny like they usually do

9. Dublin (unchanged)

They showed great character to rescue a draw against Wexford. If they can build on that and put in an impressive performance against Galway or Kilkenny, they can make the top 3

10. Antrim (unchanged)

Sunday's hammering vs Kilkenny won't define Darren Gleeson’s side season. It all comes down to Carlow

11. Carlow (unchanged)

Just read the following for Antrim. The same can be said for Carlow. However, they should be worried that their form has nosedived since securing promotion to Division 1B, as it's their third loss in a row after losing to Kildare and Laois.
