Daniel Sturridge Makes Unusual Comparison Of Facing Dortmund To Playing FIFA

Liverpool surprised many with their strong showing away to one of the hottest teams in Europe this seaosn in Borussia Dortmund.

Klopp got his tactics spot on, and his decision to pick Divock Origi up front in place of Daniel Sturridge bore fruit as the Beglian bagged Liverpool's vital away goal, but ahead of the return leg the man who was dropped in Germany is looking forward to showing what he can do, that is, if he takes FIFA as seriously as he sounds like he does.

And it sounds like he takes FIFA very seriously.

Speaking to Liverpool's official website, Sturridge claimed that facing Dortmund was like playing a final on FIFA:

It’s like when you’re playing a final on Fifa and you’re playing against your mate. You’ve all put £20 in the middle and there’s £100.

The pressure’s on, your palms are sweaty, but as you get into the game, the nerves go away and you enjoy it – and that’s exactly what it’s like. It’s going to be a great occasion, not just for the players but the fans, for everyone who isn’t involved with Liverpool as well – they’ll enjoy the match.

It’s one of those occasions where you just soak it all up, enjoy it, embrace it, have fun; that’s what you live for. It’s just going to be a great night for everyone, and you can’t let nerves get the better of you.

Your palms are sweaty? Are your knees also weak and your arms heavy?

Also FIFA tournaments in the Sturridge household sound like incredible occasions, with money on the line and everyone who isn't involved in the match enjoying themself, unlike in reality where those waiting to play are just slagging off whoever is playing and sighing in boredom.
