The Latest Fortnite Update Is Missing What Everyone Was Waiting For

The latest Fortnite update has gone live and while we have a new weapon and cool new gamemode, there is no sign of the meteor crash that many people had been anticpating. While the big shiny ball in the sky is still there, Tilted Towers remains standing with no sign of destruction on the horizon.

What's in the latest Fortnite update?

The two big additions this week is the new weapon and new gamemode.

Light Machine Gun

Recommended

There's a new Light Machine Gun which comes in a rare and epic rarity. The good news is that while it's rare it can be found nearly everywhere, including floor loot, chests and vending machines. It does 25/26 damage and fires and 100 round magazine with five second reload time. It requires medium ammo.

50V50 version 2 Game Mode

You might remember the 50v50 mode from the early days of Fortnite:Battle Royale. Well now it's back and more crazy than ever. This time each team comes in on their own battle bus along one half of the map, and you can actually see where the final circle is going to be right from the very start. There is more details on the Epic Games website about what to expect from the mode:

  • Each team has a bus, approaching the island from opposite directions. On the map, the friendly bus has a blue outline, enemy has red.
  • Final storm circle visible on minimap at start.
  • Players have 10 minutes to loot the map as the storm closes in on the circle, then 5 minutes to fight, and another 5 minutes as the storm shrinks to the end.
  • Supply drops come in batches of 3-6, fall every two minutes, and only land in the final storm circle.
  • Added dotted line to map, which indicates the "battle lines" between the two teams. Crossing the line will make running into enemies more likely.

What else is in the Fornite Update?

It's a boring feature but an important one, the new update has fixed the issue where you accidentally would shoot your own base when peeking over the top. Thank Christ!
