'Pokémon With Guns' Palworld Proves Massive Hit After Opening Weekend

Palworld has been an enormous success over its opening weekend, after its early access release for Windows and Xbox last Friday.

The open-world thrid-person adventure game is set in the 'Palpagos Islands', with players given the task of hunting, fighting, and capturing animals known as 'Pals'.

The game can be played in either single-player or online with up to 32 players on a server.

Palworld Is Setting Records On Steam After Opening Weekend

Nicknamed 'Pokémon With Guns', it sold 5 million copies over the weekend, and became the second most-played paid game ever on Steam, behind PUBG.

"Steam users currently playing #Palworld has exceeded 1.5 million!", the official Palworld account tweeted. "Thank you so much for making us the 3rd highest concurrently played game on Steam ever! We are working hard to make the game as enjoyable as possible."

The game is currently selling for €26.09 on Steam, and already has a an impressive Pokémon mod available.
