With the 2023 Open Championship begins tomorrow at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, we have taken a look at five, long odds, each-way bets for the week.

All the odds are for a top-10 finish, and are taken from Ladbrokes.com.

Robert MacIntyre - 5/1

Best Open Championship finish: T6 in 2019

World Ranking: 54th

An obvious one to start off with.

There are a few circumstances going in the Scots favour this week; the wet conditions which he will be more than used to, his current form which saw him pipped by Rory McIlroy at last week's Scottish Open, and with crucial Ryder Cup points on offer you can bet that his prep will be perfect.

Min Woo Lee - 5/1

Best Open Championship finish: T21 in 2022

World Ranking: 47th

As well as being an excellent putter, Lee can hit the ball a very long way and is sixth in driving distance on the PGA Tour this season. The course is meant to be playing long, and this will suit the 24-year-old Australian.

He has three top ten finishes in 2022-23, while his last top 5, at the recent US Open, shows that he has major form.

Could be an outside bet to win the whole thing.

Denny McCarthy - 8/1

Best Open Championship finish: has not played

World Ranking: 33rd

For somebody ranked so highly, McCarthy has long enough odds, and we saw Wyndham Clark win the recent US Open with a similar ranking.

His current form is also very good with three top ten finishes in his last four events, and a T20 finish at the US Open.

However, while he is a wonderful putter - he ranks third on the PGA Tour - his driving distance is below average, which will not suit the course if it is wet and playing long.

Byeong Hun An - 9/1

Best Open Championship finish: T26 in 2014 and 2021

World Ranking: 85th

An is an outside bet but 9/1 are good odds for an each-way finish when you look at how he went in last week's Scottish Open.

He managed a tied-3rd finish at the Renaissance Club, alongside Scottie Scheffler, and his best finish at an Open was back in 2014, the last time it was played at Royal Liverpool.

Padraig Harrington - 10/1

Best Open Championship finish: Winner in 2007 & 2008

This feels like Harringon's best shot at a major in a while, given his form, and especially if the conditions toughen up at Hoylake.

We know he is in a confident mood and happy with his game at the minute, and while a win would be a miracle, a top-10 finish seems achievable.

He has produced some excellent rounds at majors in his later years, his problem has been putting four of them together.
