After fans had been criticising the behaviour of Justin Thomas at the 2022 President's Cup, Shane Lowry showed us that he already knew the American's boisterous manner would be on full display at Quail Hollow.

During his singles loss to Si Woo Kim, footage showed Justin Thomas clearly aggrieved at having to putt out from over two feet to win an early hole, as the South Korean had not conceded it.

However, footage from earlier in the week showed Thomas' playing partner Jordan Spieth asking Thomas whether they should concede a putt, before Thomas shakes his head and appears to utter the word "no."

Speaking on the No Laying Up Podcast, which aired before the President's Cup, Shane Lowry discussed the 'chirpy' behaviour of Justin Thomas at team events, and told the hosts that we would be seeing some of it at the event.

The Americans get very chirpy. JT, we'll see a bit of that next week in the President's Cup. JT likes to get very chirpy. I know JT very well and I get on with him. He gets very chirpy when it comes to Ryder Cup and President's Cup.

Shane Lowry also discussed the behaviour of the Americans at the Ryder Cup in 2021, in regards to 'gimmes', and the cheeky action of using ones putter length to highlight just how short a putt was if they were not given it.

"I seen him [Justin Thomas] on one hole. I seen a picture of him actually, I wasn't playing in the morning. It was Saturday morning and I wasn't playing, and I seen a picture of him doing that with the putter length. And his wasn't a gimme, it wasn't a gimme.

"And I had about a foot and a half putt on the first against Tony and Harris English on the Saturday afternoon, and it was definitely a gimme. And I did it just like taking the piss. And then I did it, JT was standing at the back of the ninth hole, and I had a three or four footer that definitely wasn't a gimme, but I knocked it in and I kind of did it and I looked at JT and pointed at him and just started laughing.

"But Bryson did it as well, and Bryson's putter is about six feet long, so I don't know why he was doing it."
