July 9th, 2016 is going to be a landmark date for the UFC.

It will see the promotion's 200th pay-per-view event.

At the moment, a rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz is expected to be the headline fight.

For Diaz, the prospect of a facing McGregor again is amusing. Speaking to Rolling Stone, the 30-year-old called his defeated UFC 196 opponent getting another chance 'funny'.

I lost plenty of decisions and I've never got a rematch to this day. So that's crazy. Conor got worked over and now they're saying rematch, which makes sense, I understand that. I just think it's funny because it's like, Jose Aldo didn't get a rematch.

Diaz cited his personal preference for a title fight against lightweight champion Rafael dos Anjos, but understands the reasoning behind a rematch with McGregor - i.e. money.

Apart from the rumoured McGregor vs Diaz 2 fight - a bout for which Ariel Helwani says contracts have already been issued - the UFC 200 card is expected to feature numerous other big names.

It has already been reported that Cain Velasquez, the former heavyweight champion, is set to take on number seven ranked Travis Browne. While in the middleweight division, number eight ranked Gegard Mousasi will face number 11 ranked Derek Brunson.
