The Easofen Six Nations Team Of The Day

Bloody hell. What a day. What a tournament. What a sport. This was actually a day when players stood up. It was hard to pick players in positions this time.

15. Stuart Hogg

Hogg is magnificent in a losing side. Caused Ireland all sorts of tournaments, and played brilliantly all tournament.

14. George North

When you score three tries, there's a strong indication that you played well. He had no right to score the hat trick try going through several players.

13. Jared Payne

I promise I won't mention the "second rate foreign player" nonsense. Took his try well, and continues to improve at the international level. His play to release Bowe down the right was magic.

12. Jamie Roberts

Scored the try that set Wales on there way, and was brilliant at the breakdown with one memorable rip.

11. Noa Nakaitaci

Scored one dodgy try, but caused England all sorts of problems on the wing and should have had more. The offload for Debaty's try was immense.

10. George Ford

This kid has balls. He got every important kick. There was so much pressure on every one, and with such composure.

9. Ben Youngs

The player of the round. He was excellent. Scored two tries and created more. Lost count of how many good things he did. A perfect 10/10 for the round.

1. Vincent Debaty

To be honest, I'm solely putting him in for that heroic support line for that try.

2. Guilhem Guirado

The set up for Maxime Mermoz's try at the start of the second half was majestic. I love a ball-handling hooker.

3. Martin Castrogiovanni

The Italian giant put in a dogged performance today. There's life in this Italian dog yet.

4. Courtney Lawes

It looks like he had never been away. Returned from injury in the last game, and he absolutely cut Plisson in half with a crunching legal hit. He was

5. Paul O'Connell

Scored a captain's try to put Ireland on their way today. The leadership he has demonstrated in the last two games alone has been awesome.

6. Peter O'Mahony
six nations team of the day

One of his best performances. O'Mahony was everywhere today, claiming the ball in the air, making a lot of metres on the ground, he was outstanding

7. Sean O'Brien

Two tries, 76 metres, seven defenders beaten, two clean breaks and two turnovers. Sometimes stats are bang on and tell you exactly how good someone was.

8. Jamie Heaslip

That tackle on Stuart Hogg. It was that important.
