Alison Miller has called time on her international rugby career.

She did so via Twitter, saying that "all good things must come to an end."

The 34-year-old had a near decade long Ireland career, winning two Six Nations Championships, including the Grand Slam in 2013.

Miller made her comeback to the Ireland jersey in the first game of this year's Guinness Six Nations against England, coming off the bench. That return was nearly a year after the Laois-born back broke her leg in a Six Nations game against Italy.

She subsequently started the games against Scotland, Italy and France in what was a thoroughly disappointing tournament for Ireland.

One of the great highlights from Miller's Ireland career was her try in the 17-14 win against New Zealand at the 2014 World Cup.
