Like Brian O'Driscoll in 2013 and Alex Ferguson in 2002, George Hook has decided he was too hasty in announcing his retirement and he will be back in the RTE studio for another year at least.

Hook made the announcement via the mechanism of his Twitter account and shifted the blame for his change of heart onto his wife Ingrid.
He has committed to working forever.
