O'Brien appears to strike Pape in the chest with an open-hand, and the citing commisioner has deemed the offence worthy of a red card. O'Brien will now be summoned to a hearing in London tomorrow to decided whether he receives a ban or not.

The hearing will take place tomorrow at 1pm. The case will be heard by independent judicial officer Australian Terry Willis.

Ireland now face an anxious wait to see whether O'Brien's World Cup is over or not. Striking carries a potential ban of between 2-52 weeks, that can be reduced due to record. O'Brien disciplinary record should mean that any potential ban would be reduced.
