Cardiff Airport Were Tricked Into Searching For Some Unlikely Irish Rugby Fans

There was a frantic search for some Irishmen at the weekend when rugby fans pulled a crafty prank on staff in Cardiff airport before the game against Canada.

The fans in question convinced airport staff that they had become separated from their 'friends' Eamon de Valera, and Michael Collins and Padraig Pearse.

Staff duly called out the names of the Irish heroes over the sound system to what we can only assume was plenty of cheering from the arriving fans. The fact that the prank has made it into the 'And finally' section of the UK Metro is testament to the creativity involved. Fair play.
