Hurlers on the ditch, parents living vicariously through their children, backyard referees, call them what you will, one of the most frustrating trends in both amateur and professional sport is the noisy interfering expert spectators firing abuse from the sidelines.

This is a completely different and the start of something that could lead to an almighty schmozzle to end all schmozzles if it happened in a Junior C game.

Here we have an image from a Royston V Fullerians Cup Final in the UK, this image from the official club photographs appears to show a member of the crowd sticking out a bootcut jeaned leg trying to aid the tackling of one of the Royston players.

Plenty to discuss here, but setting aside the elbow pads and oversized jeans, the decision to interfere with play in such fashion is surely a new departure in the game, possibly influence by Monty Python
