On Sunday HBO aired a special documentary, called Game of Thrones: The Last Watch, which took a a delve behind the scenes for the making of the show's final season.

While there was a massively positive reaction to the documentary as a whole - something the show itself didn't receive - one clear moment stood out for everyone. The table read for the scene in which Jon Snow kills Daenerys Targaryen features in the programme, giving us fantastic insight into how the main protagonists reacted.

Emilia Clarke managed to hold it together, but Kit Harington seemed to almost break down in tears.

This was one of many monumental scenes to feature the documentary, with viewers also given insight into how the likes of Harington reacted to the twist that it would be Arya who would actually kill the Night King.

Harington recently told Entertainment Weekly that he had thought he would be the one to deal the Night King the final blow:

I like it. It gives Arya’s training a purpose to have an end goal. It’s much better how she does it the way she does it. I think it will frustrate some in the audience that Jon’s hunting the Night King and you’re expecting this epic fight and it never happens — that’s kind of Thrones. But it’s the right thing for the characters. There’s also something about it not being the person you expect. The young lady sticks it to the man.

From the clips above it's clear he took the news of the Night King's death a lot better than the tale of Dany's fate. The full doc lasts two hours and will air tonight, May 27th, on Sky Atlantic at 9pm. You can watch the trailer below.
