Conservative businesswoman and House of Lords peer Michelle Mone has been in the news a lot recently.  A  company she is linked to called PPE Medpro is being sued by the UK government for over £122 million worth of PPE stock that was not fit for use.

Michelle Mone Makes Major 'Ireland' Gaff On Pointless

Mone's reputation has fallen even further after an appearance on the game show Pointless - believed to be from 2015 - has been widely shared online.

When asked to guess what was a popular answer to the question, 'Countries that drive on right', Mone gave a poor answer, that displayed a clear lack of knowledge of the driving habits across the Irish Sea:

I'm sure many people have answered this but I was going for ... because I'm sure that we can come up with Ireland straight away .... its Southern Ireland.

Mone asked game show host, Richard Osman, what was wrong, and he duly explained to her that cars drive on the left in Ireland. And this was ignoring the fact that there is no country called 'Southern Ireland'.

Given that she clearly knows that cars drive on the left in Northern Ireland, it was a bizarre answer, thinking that drivers would suddenly switch lanes when crossing the border.
