Yesterday, the House of Commons voted overwhelmingly to extend same-sex marriage and abortion to Northern Ireland in a landmark day. Although not set in stone, the laws will come into effect should the Stormont Assembly not reconvene by October 21st. Following on from historic votes in the Republic in 2015 and 2018, yesterday saw parity promised to the people of Ireland, both in the Republic and in the North.
