Well it's been a long and hard slog that's pitted some of Ireland'd most beloved fictional characters up against each other and forced the people of Ireland to make excruciating decisions. But in the end there could only be one winner, and none of us can really be surprised at his identity.
Ladies and gentlemen, we present to your Ireland Best TV Character as voted by you: Father Ted Crilly.
When we launched this bracket in association with Ladbrokes, we expected a strong showing from the Craggy Ireland cleric, but we didn't expect a romp like this. Ted came up against the crime lord Nidge in the final and easily mauled him, winning the votes by at least 85%.
Given the show is celebrating its 25th anniversary this week, it's fitting to see Father Ted Crilly given the respect he deserves.
