We're at the quarter-final stages of our vote to crown the Best Irish TV Character, in association with Ladbrokes.

Many greats have fallen by the wayside in the opening round. Sadly we've had to say goodbye to the likes of Miley Byrne, Carol Foley and Bernard Black. You voted in your thousands and for many pressure to decide was gut-wrenching.

But now we must move on and focus on those who made it through. In the opening round Fr Ted Crilly and Nidge were utterly dominant but will they have things as easy when they face Billy Murphy and Roy Trenneman in their respective quarter-finals? Dustin the Turkey takes on Agnes Brown in an all-Dublin affair while Francis "The Viper" Higgins' reward for making it through a titanic opening round battle is a match with Martin Moone.

Voting is now open on our social stories, on our Twitter page and onsite below, where it will remain open until 9am on Monday. As always, choose wisely.
