Every Premier League club has those players who never seem to be talked about as much as the high-profile stars that draw the public eye, for better or worse, every week.

The result of this is that some of the more important players in a team are neglected when it comes to the praise they are due for their performances, so to right this wrong we have compiled an XI of underrated Premier League players who we feel just don't get enough love for their performances so far this season.

Some picks are sure to be divisive, but they always are when you compile an XI.. Feel free to let us know if we'd made any glaring omissions in your opinion.

GK - Fraiser Forster

Since the Southampton keeper has come back from a long injury lay-off he has kept three clean sheets and has turned the Saints fortunes around.

A big physical presence who was a much bigger loss for Southampton than was acknowledged, Ronald Koeman will be desperate to keep him fit for as long as possible.

RB - Cedric Soares

Another Southampton player, right-back Cedric Soares has made a very impressive transition to the Premier League from Sporting Lisbon.

An ever-present in the side, he's established himself as a very good Premier League player and is further testament to Southampton's recruitment strategy.

CB - Toby Alderweireld

After making the move to join Mauricio Pochettino at Spurs, the Belgian has grown into one of the finest defenders in the league.

His exceptional long-range passing is how Spurs start a large chunk of their attacks, and his pace makes him a problem for attackers as well. A very classy player.

CB - Winston Reid

Kiwi defender Winston Reid has grown into a commanding presence at West Ham, and his no nonsense approach to the art of defending means he is a hero to West Ham fans.

Outside of West Ham fans you rarely hear much praise for the New Zealand international despite him regularly performing in big games.

LB - Christian Fuchs

The likes of Vardy, Mahrez, Albrighton, Kante, Drinkwater, Huth, Morgan, and Kasper Schmeichel could all have been on this list in the first weeks of the season, but not now, as all the above players are being praised for Leicester truly spectacular season.

One man who needs more love is Christian Fuchs, as he has settled in seamlessly to his first season in English football, and is one of the better fullbacks in the league.

We also paid tribute to what a legend he is off the pitch as well.

CM - Moussa Dembele

He's definitely recognised as a very good player, but this season Dembele has stepped up again and is one of the best all-round midfielders in the league.

The rise of Dele Alli has seen his Belgian midfield partner take a bit of a back-seat in terms of exposure, but he's been a big part of Spurs' successes.

CM - Etienne Capoue

He didn't fit in at Spurs, but Capoue is a huge player for Watford and is pound-for-pound the best nutmegger in the league.

Silky skills, pace, bundles of strength and an eye for a pass, Etienne has it all.

CM - Steven Davis

One of the most important players for Northern Ireland has been doing it regularly in the Premier League for years now.

He gets goals and assists and he's one of the most reliable players around, yet you never hear of him being praised.

RM - Enner Valencia

So much was made about the risk West Ham were taking when they signed Enner Valencia on the back of a good World Cup for Ecudador, because you can "never judge a player on one tournament", but The Hammers made the right call.

He can play out wide or up front and is an absolute nightmare for defenders with his pace and worth ethic.

LM - Nacer Chadli

For someone who had the piss taken out of him a lot in his first season in English football, Nacer Chadli has proven that you can't write off a new signing after one season.

He's cut out the brain-farts and is consistently creating from the flanks for Tottenham, a vastly improved player for Spurs.

ST - Shinji Okazaki

Another one who's great work has been confined to the shadows of the Vardy and Mahrez hype has been Japanese international Shinji Okazaki.

We had him earmarked as a new signing who could really make an impact, as his tenacious work-rate and great positioning made him a very enjoyable player to watch in the Bundesliga, and he has definitely taken that with him to the Premier League.
