The ghost of headlines past, Jack Grealish, has returned to haunt us once more.

It is surely forgivable to bring up the young lad's name seeing as we were blessed with the presence of Aston Villa great Ian Taylor in the office today.

In addition to launching his range of headphones in Ireland - IT7 - he has the tough gig of being an Aston Villa ambassador.

He feels that Grealish was wrong to choose England.

Grealish is currently injured. But even before then he was finding the competition for selection a bit too hot in the Premier League's worst team.

The decision to play for England, I thought, was a bad one. First and foremost, he's got a lot of people to get past. And I think he'd struggle to get in the team.

He'd only played a few games for Villa and we're talking about an international career and I think it was way too early.

He's got a lot to do. He's injured at the moment but before that he couldn't get in a team that's going to get relegated. So, what does that say?

Jack, as young as he is, has got to surround himself with the right people. First and foremost, play with Aston Villa and not worry about anything else.

Grealish was banished from the first team squad by Remi Garde after indulging in a spot of heavy partying. Garde also directly criticised Grealish in post-match interviews after Villa laboured to victory over Wycombe in the FA Cup third round.
