It's the early stages of the year and people are beginning to ask 'when is the Tour de France 2017?' as the world's premium cycling event returns for yet another year.

The 104th edition of the Tour is set to take place between July 1st and 23rd 2017.

In total there will be 21 stages with the race starting in Dusseldorf, Germany and finish at the Champs-Elysées in Paris as per usual.

The 2017 edition will add another dimension to recent years as the tour includes all five of France's mountain territories for the first time in 25 years. The route begins in Germany

Where To Watch The Tour De France 2017?

As is the tradition, the Tour de France will be broadcast on TG4 in the Republic of Ireland. While, in the United Kingdom ITV and Eurosport have the rights for the annual race.
