3 Cheeky Fantasy Football Signings You Can Make Today

Tis Stephens's's's Day so that can only mean one thing and it's not the same thing Drake was talking about. Football is back!

More than likely however, you've completely forgotten to make your fantasy football transfers until today. Not to fear. We have three cheeky signings you could make if you're trying to catch up ground on the leaders in your league.

Pedro £8.9m

Are Chelsea back? It certainly looked like it last weekend. I'm still not fully convinced but they are definitely the team to look to for a few differentials. Everyone is overloaded on the likes of Ozil, Man City and Leicester players, so if you were to invest in Chelsea early than it could give a little something different.

When Pedro first signed for the league champions he looked like he was quickly going to become a must-have fantasy player. However he went off the boil as soon as I bloody bought him and was quietly kicked out of my team a couple of weeks later. However after an assist and a goal in his last two games, I'm not only bringing him back in today but I'm also considering captaining him.

Theo Walcott £8.3m

Recommended

This is a close call between himself and Oliver Giroud but I'm going with Walcott because Giroud is probably on people's radar already.

Walcott can be fantasy gold when he wants to be. He is now back from injury and scored against Man City on Monday night so there is already a small sign that he could be about to go on one of those great runs. Then again he could also just re-injure himself so it's a bit of gamble. However, with a good run of fixtures over the festive period it may well prove a gamble worth taking.

Gareth McAuley - £5m

Definitely not the most glamorous of our Christmas recommendations but perhaps the most reliable. I like West Brom's run of fixtures over the festive period. So much so that I brought James McClean in last week, only to witness the eejit get sent off.

I probably would have been better looking at their defence. They don't score many goals but they've already proven themselves to be a solid unit and in fact, when they do score, McAuley or Craig Dawson can often be involved. I'm going with McAuley because he's slightly cheaper but either option is perfectly fine. I'd be hoping for two clean sheets and a goal over the next four games from one of them.
