Personally-speaking, I'm much more enjoying the fringe sports of the Olympics over the blockbuster events. One of the strangest moments in the Olympics came yesterday when Korean fencer Shin A Lam who with one second left in extra time of her semifinal was defeated on a move despite the clock not starting moving. She did not accept the decision, and in the parlance of fencing sat on the stage (known as the piste) as her coaches went to launch a formal appeal. she sat there for 45 minutes.
