Eddie Hearn has said he wants to deliver a ‘UFC style’ card to Ireland for Katie Taylor’s homecoming next year, with some of the biggest names in Irish boxing hoping to feature in Croke Park.

Following Katie Taylor’s win over Karen Carabajal in October, negotiations have been ongoing to organise a long overdue bout in Ireland for the Bray boxer, with a rematch against Amanda Serrano among the possibilities.

Katie Taylor has revealed in the past how close a Croke Park fight came to being agreed, but failed at the last hurdle in what would be one of the biggest events in Irish sporting history.

Should it happen, it’s likely we will see a date in April or May at the earliest due to Ireland’s unpredictable climate. But when it does Eddie Hearn wants to make it the biggest show possible.

Speaking earlier today, Katie Taylor’s promoter Eddie Hearn confirmed that he needs the support of the Irish government to make this fight happen, but has promised to deliver a stacked card in Croke Park if given the opportunity.

“We need the Irish governments support as well. Not in terms of allowing it to happen, but tis is a very expensive operation to go into Croke Park and put a fight on. Croke Park is the one, it’s historic.

Gary Cully against Jorge Linares, Spike O’Sullivan against Hogan, or Caoimhin Agyarjo, Luke Keeler against Jason Quigley, Thomas Carty against Jason Fisher.

There is so many fights like that going down, you can imagine what kind of night it will be. There are so many Irish fighters desperate to go on this fight.

Genuinely, you could go UFC style and say ‘you v you, I’m not talking to you anymore, see you there do you want it or not?’

Not just for Irish boxing, for Irish sport, but for Katie, I just feel like it would be unbelievable.”

An incredible night in store if these fights were to be agreed alongside Katie Taylor's possible rematch with Amanda Serrano.
