Shane Ross's Latest Tweets About Katie Taylor Could Cause Some Embarrassment

Shane Ross's Latest Tweets About Katie Taylor Could Cause Some Embarrassment
By Conor Neville Updated

It's fair to say that the finger of the Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport has strayed from the pulse of the nation.

At 8.40pm Irish time, he sent this tweet.

A minute or so later, he sent this boisterous message of support.

Gavin Spring, quick off the mark, asked Rosser to stick €20 on Katie's Finnish opponent. Kevin O'Leary has suffered a similar twitter mishap and has informed Ross he is currently watching Ireland play Italy in the 1990 World Cup quarter-final and is hopeful about the result.

Alas, technologically savvy observers believe he may have fallen foul of the tweetdeck schedule function, sending the tweet six or so hours after he should have.

As political misdeeds go, this is not quite in the first rank. We at Balls.ie are not calling for Shane Ross's head as a result of this.

Still, we hope Katie doesn't have to see these messages. That would be an exquisitely cruel form of t0rture at this time.

Ross has hit the headlines out in Rio after admitting he was 'stunned' that Pat Hickey and the OCI had refused to agree to the presence of an independent figure into the inquiry into the recent ticket touting scandal.

At the time of writing, the tweets have not yet been deleted. We are anxiously awaiting his tweet of commiserations to Katie. We will have it soon. More to follow...
