Ireland forward Callum Robinson was far from happy after he stormed down the tunnel in Cardiff City's loss to Blackburn.

In what has been a difficult season for Callum Robinson, and indeed Cardiff, it didn't get any easier as they started 2023 with a 1-0 defeat at Ewood Park.

Having missed their previous game against Coventry, Callum Robinson was picked to lead the line, but was taken off with 25 minutes to go, despite Cardiff desperate for an equaliser.

Callum Robinson was furious with the decision, appearing to exchange words with Cardiff manager Mark Hudson.

The Ireland striker was furious with the substitution, making his feelings clear to his manager before storming down the tunnel.

Callum Robinson Substitution Explained

When asked about the incident after the game, Hudson refereed to Robinson's injury problems for the reason to take him off.

Well, he missed the last game through injury. And we know how important he is to the club. I know we are chasing for a goal, but we have players who are raring to go and try and get on the pitch.

They brought some impetus into the game, unfortunately not enough cutting edge. If we push Robbo too far then we could lose him for a longer period of time, which is not something the club needs."

This incident couldn't have come at a worse time for Cardiff, who are now 20th in the table after just one win in their last seven games.

Pressure has been mounting on their manager, whose days may be numbered after another defeat.

For Callum Robinson, this is another setback in his Cardiff career, having only scored four goals in the Championship this season.

He has shown what he is capable of on the international stage, he hasn't been able to produce it on a regular basis for Cardiff, with fans divided on today's antics.
