It's coming closer and closer to January 1st, and the annual winter transfer window for Premier League clubs. Jim White has been ironing his yellow tie since the summer for this moment.

What that means now is that we're going to have a few weeks of rumours. Rumours which will culminate when Peter Odemwingie eventually drives himself to Newcastle only to sign for Bournemouth.

As always, Liverpool are first in the rumor mill. Last week there was reports  that Adam Lallana was heading to PSG in a bumper deal, and if you believe Italian reports (via the Liverpool Echo), they've already found their replacement.

Prepare yourself, Reds, for the arrival of 19-year old Franck Kessie.  The Ivory Coast international has been shining for Atalanta this season, who are joint fourth in Serie A at the moment. He's scored five times and chipped in with an assist in 13 matches. Most of his goals have been from the penalty spot and he seems a bit fiery as well, picking up six cards so far.

We don't know too much else about him, so we're going  to do a typical Sky Sports scout report. Enjoy his highlights from a Youtube video.

Decent, but given Liverpool's history of strange transfer fees, is £22.5 million really necessary for a 19-year old? This is certainly one to watch.

Of course, Kessie will be in action at the African Cup of Nations in January, alongside the Toure brothers, Wilfried Bony and Eric Bailly. Sadio Mané, Joel Matip will be at the tournament as well, which could be helpful to lure him to Merseyside.

It may be a while until we see him debut for Jurgen Klopp's side.

The Echo are also reporting that Mamadhou Sakho is heading out the exit door at Anfield, a player who will be greatly missed by Liverpool fans. Probably. Well, maybe not.
