Earlier today we brought you the latest twist in the Mathieu Valbuena sex tape scandal by revealing that none other than Samir Nasri was alleged to have played a part in the farcical case.
The "bad boy" Manchester City midfielder was alleged to have played the role of middle man between Benzema and his blackmailers but he has since come out denying this and any involvement in the case.
French newspaper Le Monde have once again been quick to spread the news of the scandal, they released a very short and supposed transcript of a conversation between by Nasri and the alleged blackmailers, Mustapha Zouaoui and Axel Angot who are believed to have a long affiliation with Marseille.
The have Nasri alleged as saying;
If Karim doesn’t want to intervene, I’ll do it. I’ll call him this evening.
But the former Arsenal man has come out fighting in an interview with French radio station RMC, saying he doesn't have any time for such stories.
Everyone in football knew about this sextape story, but I didn’t want to get involved. I earn a good living, I’m a professional footballer, I don’t want to gain from others’ misfortunes.
He also mentioned the two characters Zouaoui and Angot, who seem to be at the centre of the controversy.
As for Zouaoui and Angot, I know them, but I haven’t spoken to them in a long time.
Mathieu shouldn’t drag me into this story. I’m going to talk to him. I have nothing to do with it, and I don’t care about it.
If he thinks that because I know them, that I wanted to get involved, he has the right to think whatever he likes, but he doesn’t have the right to bring my name into it. He’s seen the dossier, and that there is no audio involving me.
Pretty convincing stuff from Nasri, his comments lead you to believe that Valbuena is perhaps trying to make the most out of the scandal and bring as many people down with him.
