Video: Democracy Was The Real Loser On Soccer Republic Last Night
By Gary Reilly Updated

We're not going to stand here on our soapbox and claim that democracy doesn't work. But, if you do want to make that argument then last night's Soccer Republic is a bloody good place to start. The March goal of the month competition was a particular hard fought contest this month.

When we say hard fought, we do of course mean that Greg Bolger should have won. However, it wasn't to be and instead the public in their knowing wisdom decided to vote for Barry McNamee's effort against Drogheda United.

A great strike from a very good player, but to say it's better than Bolger's is very questionable indeed. We'd even go as far as saying Enda Curran's goal against Drogheda was also better.

Much like the government in the aftermath of the first Lisbon Treaty vote, we don't like the result so we'll hold another one. Have your say below.
