Nine-time All-Ireland winner James McCarthy has indicated that he will play with the Dublin footballers in 2024.
McCarthy captained Dublin to victory over Kerry in July's All-Ireland final, winning a record ninth Celtic Cross along with Stephen Cluxton and Michael Fitzsimons.
Following the game, McCarthy hinted that it could be the right moment to call time on his inter-county football career. "Look, It's not a bad way to probably wrap it up, is it? We'll see," he told RTÉ.

The Ballymun Kickhams man lined out with the Shelbourne Legends against a Killester Donnycarney Legends team in a Breast Cancer Ireland fundraiser at Hadden Park over the weekend.

"You have to give it a crack, don't you? We'll give it a belt to see what happens," McCarthy told Striker Online when asked if he's aiming to win a 10th All-Ireland medal.
The fundraiser was held in honour of Annette Howlett, wife of current Killester Donnycarney manager and ex-Shelbourne player Gary Howlett. Annette passed away earlier this year. Donations can be made to the fundraiser through GoFundMe.

"A few of the boys playing are a bit seasoned," McCarthy said about his performance.
"I might have looked better than I was. Very rusty. The touch wasn't great.
"I really enjoyed it. It was great to get out and play. It was probably 10-odd years since I played a soccer game. It was good fun and great to share a pitch with a lot of Irish soccer legends.
"It's an incredible cause. Gary and the family are great. I actually work with Gary's daughter Kate in EBS. Once I heard it was on, there was no doubt that I'd try to support it. Hopefully, it will be a year thing now."
