David Clifford handed Kerry a lifeline few saw coming in the final moments of their Super 8 game against Monaghan in Clones on Sunday afternoon.

Kerry trailed by a goal - they had been behind for all of 72 minutes against Malachy O'Rourke's side - until Clifford found the net in dramatic circumstances.

James O'Donoghue played a hopeful high ball towards the Monaghan square. Despite having three defenders on him, Kieran Donaghy managed to get a hand to the ball, knocking it down to Clifford.

The young Kerry forward fired a low shot across the goal to the opposite corner of Rory Beggan's goal sending into raptures the supporters who had made the trip to St. Tiernach's Park.

On commentary duty for Radio Kerry for the game were Tim Moynihan and 1984 All-Ireland winning captain, Ambrose O'Donovan.

Tim Moynihan's vocal chords need next weekend off as badly as the players.

You can listen to how they called the goal below.
