Hurling in Offaly has felt a little bit underwhelming this year, it's been an average league campaign in 1B as they are generally regarded as somewhere under the ranks of Wexford, Limerick and Galway, but above the standards of Laois and Kerry; leaving them in somewhat of a hurling purgatory.
They took on Westmeath on Saturday night and ran out comfortable winners, although probably not as comfortable as they would have expected with a 4-15 to 1-20 scoreline that has seen them advance to the semi-final of the Leinster Championship.
The star of the show came from the backdrop in the stands as one Offaly supporter was captured beautifully by the photographers on hand.
Mick McDonagh, if you haven't heard of him, is regarded by many as Ireland's greatest GAA fan and even has his own hashtag on twitter. Searching #offalydude will bring you back glorious results.
