Rugby gamers have picked up on a worrying detail from online shops, with the release date of the upcoming Rugby 24 being displayed as December 31, 2022.
Last August, developers Big Ant studios had already released a statement pushing the release of the game back to January 30, in time for the Six Nations.
"Ever since we began developing the game Rugby 24, our goal has been to create the best simulation and most complete game possible," the statement said.
"The team has been working hard to adjust the gameplay, represent the sport as accurately as possible and integrate all the officially licensed teams, which include over 130 countries and 15 leagues."
Rugby 24 May Be Delayed Once More
Rugby games over the past decade plus have an awful reputation, with arguabl, the last great rugby game being Rugby 08.
And, if the upcoming title is indeed delayed once more, it will once again fail to capitalise on the interest in the game generated from the World Cup.

"Rugby 24 is an official product of the Rugby World Cup 2023," the description given for the game says.
"Choose your country from more than 130 national teams and try to bring home the Webb Ellis Cup. The game also includes the top championships, a complete Career mode and various multiplayer modes. Rugby 24 captures the very essence of rugby with deep gameplay that faithfully recreates the sport."
