Jason Quigley endured a battle to emerge on the right side of the decision in his bout with Freddy Hernandez in the early hours of this morning in California.

The fight went fully ten rounds, with Quigley ultimately winning on a generous set of scorecards reading 99-91, 99-91, 98-92 and 98-92 having been pushed all the way by his veteran, 39-year-old Mexican opponent.

It means Quigley remains undefeated and has successfully defended his NABF middleweight belt, but having been cut by Hernandez in the fourth round, it was perhaps harder work than it should have been.

Nonetheless, Quigley remains undefeated having won his 15th professional bout.
