Yesterday, Munster announced the signing of Gerhard van den Heever on a two-year contract. The 24-year-old, who apparently can play wing, centre or full-back, will join the province in November after the Western Province's Currie Cup campaign has finished.

While van den Heever initially looked like one of the most exciting prospects in South African rugby a few years ago, his career appears to have plateaued somewhat and Munster will be hoping he can rediscover some of the spectacular form he showed in 2010.
