Here in Balls towers, we're often befuddled at the thought of sports journalism before 2006, when there was no such thing as Twitter and no way for people from all walks of society to engage and discuss the pressing matters of the day. What did people do before Twitter, we often ask ourselves? Today provided another one of those 'thank God for social media moments', when 'Right Hook' presenter took a few minutes out from his hectic day broadcasting the US election from Washington to reply to self-described "Writer, Philosopher, Athlete, Dancer, Entrepreneur, Genius, Model, Bullshitter and all round great bloke' 'Large John' operating under the Twitter handle @peniswomanarse who had politely asked him to retire and make way for some younger talent. Mr Hook felt obliged to throw the debate in the direction of Sports Journalist of the Year Ewan McKenna, who obligingly rounded off the debate.

Bottom line - talent should always trump beauty.
