Supermac's has redeemed itself after last month's review of Ireland's most famous native fast food chain.

The popular Food Review Club (76.3k YouTube subs) visited the Talbot Street branch of Supermac's - a notoriously bad spot - and was unsurprisingly appalled at the food, calling it "proper shit".

Their Irish followers would not let it rest and informed them that the quality can vary hugely from place to place, and so they went back for a second try, this time to Carrickmacross in Monaghan.

Their second trip turned out to be a far better experience food wise, and they even got chatting to the owner Des, and a couple of local Monaghan boys.

"I'm glad I've seen the light today," Matt of Food Review Club said. "That was a wonderful experience. He was awesome, the food was much better. Did it make the hairs on the back of my neck stand up? No. But if I was hungry for a nice burger and portion of chips, would that have scratched the itch? Absolutely!

"The chicken was good, the burger was on point, the chips were tasty. Big flavour, smiling team, it's what you want, isn't it?"

"That was proper s**t. Please don't mention Supermac's in the same breath as McDonald's...," Matt had said after the first trip to Talbot Street Supermac's.

"If I came here a bit down in the dumps and wanted a burger, and I got that, I'd probably be locked up. Fuming!

"The chicken was dry and overcooked, nonsense. The chips were alright, they tasted trashy, but kind of yummy trashy. The rest was just trashy."
