The first free games of 2024 on Xbox Game Pass have been revealed, and there are some crackers among the collection.

Game Pass is one of the best amenities available to Xbox players and, if you managed to get your hands on a new console over the Christmas period, then the latest collection of free games will be a perfect start-off point.

With a mixture of new and old games across several different genres, you won't be stuck for games to get stuck into.

Early January Xbox Game Pass line-up revealed

Close to the Sun (Xbox, Cloud, PC) - January 3

The first game of January 2024 on Xbox Game Pass is the 2019 horror adventure game Close to the Sun. The Xbox One version of the game got a slightly stronger response than its PC or PS4 equivalents - though the story of the game has earned a lot of praise.

Hell Let Loose (Xbox, Cloud, PC) - January 4

The reviews speak for themselves. The visuals of this FPS are next-level, as you're tasked to fight your way through famous battles of World War II across multiple fronts. An amazing addition.

Assassin's Creed Valhalla (Xbox, Cloud, PC) - January 9

Perhaps the launch which will draw the most hype from players - if they are not already owners of the game.

Also one of the most recent releases of the games on this month's early additions, Valhalla launched in 2020, and we've no doubt players will be jumping straight in when it launches on January 9.

Super Mega Baseball 4 (Xbox, Cloud, PC) - January 11

The first of the Super Mega Baseball games published by EA Sports, this game was only released last June, and its strong reviews only back up how fun it looks as an arcade-take on sports.

 

We Happy Few (Xbox, Cloud, PC) - January 11

Resident Evil 2 (Xbox, Cloud, PC) - January 16

The undoubted star on the list of games arriving on Xbox Game Pass this month. Resident Evil 2 - a remake of the 1998 classic - was released to universal acclaim in 2019 and was in the running for multiple Game of the Year gongs when it launched.

Few concepts in this world are as exciting as a zombie apocalypse game and, when it's as much of a classic as RE2, it's surely a must-play.
