Apart from an admission to a TMZ reporter that 'he'd love to get that one back', Conor McGregor has not really referenced his strongly rumoured rematch with Nate Diaz.

Last Friday, Ariel Helwani of MMAFighting.com broke the news that the UFC was close to a deal for a rematch between the two at UFC 200 on July 9th.

At this stage, it would be a real surprise if the fight doesn't happen - that's despite Nate Diaz finding McGregor being given another shot as 'funny'. Diaz understands why the fight is being made - money, lots of it. UFC 196 - despite the late change in the headline event - was one of the promotion's biggest ever pay-per-view events. With the UFC 200 card set to be stacked - with McGregor vs Diaz 2 atop the pile - Dana White and co. likely have real expectations of July 9th breaking all sorts of records.

It was a good knock. Enjoy it. We'll see the next time.

McGregor's second shot at Diaz is against expected to be at welterweight, in spite of the 30-year-old American's inclination for it to be at lightweight.
